Waitati

The Waitati toilet was constructed in 2019 and has become affectionately nicknamed the 'turdis' by the local community. The loo (privy if you will) showcases the mountain-tops of Mopanui & Mapotahi which encase Blueskin Bay and features a giant mural of a ruru (morepork), painted by local artist Angela Lyon. The facility was funded by the DCC and was opened with great fanfare by former Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull, colourful mayoral candidate Mandy Mayhem-Bullock and the Waitati Militia.
