Purakaunui

Purakaunui Beach is a quiet sandy beach in an idylic setting bordering mature forests and soft sandy dunes. Nearby a peaceful inlet shelters historic moorings for local boaties which leads out to a large expansive bay.

The inlet features a much photographed community of cribs and is popular for swimming and boating.

You can access via Doctors Point or there is a car park closer to Purakaunui Beach at the end of Osborne Road.
