Waikouaiti Coast Heritage Museum
Waikouaiti
A collection that includes 9000 items dating back to the 19th century whaling days of the Waikouaiti area. Memorabilia and artefacts are displayed in the historic former BNZ building.
The heritage centre is currently undergoing a major redevelopment project which will see a new purpose-built exhibition centre added to the existing heritage precinct. As well, the current museum building will be renovated to return it to its early glory.
